Elkaholic

Charis and I are coming up fast on the end of our lease agreement here in Mt. Washington.  This means the happy couple will soon marry and live together in wedded bliss.  Where will Aram carry Charis across the threshold*, you ask?
 
*Aram apparently has to do this to either facilitate the ease of Charis' kidnapping, prevent Charis from seeming too excited to consummate their marriage, keep Charis from tripping, or stop Charis' demonic possession.  To learn more about why she could potentially wind up doing the crab-walk across their new floor read this VERY interesting How Stuff Works article about wedding traditions.

Elkton is a fun little town on the Colonial Highway of America..  Before it became Elkton in 1778, the town was known as Head of Elk.  It was founded by Swedish pirates mariners and fishermen at the head of the Elk River.

You know how it is popular to go to Vegas and get married, right?  Well where did people go before Vegas was Vegas???  Elkton!  It was the "Gretna Green" of the East Coast in the '20s and '30s.  People like Debbie Reynolds, Willie Mays, Babe Ruth, and Charles Barkley all ran away to Elkton to elope.  Now laws make you wait two days to get married, but hundreds of people still get married in Elkton each year in one of their many wedding chapels.  To plan your Elkton wedding go here
